Video Art
College of Visual Arts and Design at UNT
This studio workshop course is an in-depth study of video as an art form. Students will participate in all aspects of video production and post-production, including the gathering of ideas, storyboarding, shooting, editing and screening of final works. Digital Video will be the main focus of this class, but alternative options to creating moving images will be explored. Throughout the semester students will be exposed to a variety of artists working in the field and will consider Video Art in relation to other time-based media such as cinema, theater and dance. Students engage with fundamental properties that distinguish Video Art practices while developing their personal vocabulary. Artistic voice is emphasized over technical skills. - SYLLABUS
